By taking part in the Show Flat Scheme, you’ll help prospective students and their families see what it’s really like to live in Swansea University accommodation during Open Days — just like you may have done before arriving.
What You’ll Do
• Keep your room and shared areas clean, tidy, and ready to view
• Leave your bedroom door open during scheduled Open Days
• Welcome visitors and allow them to look around your flat
• Share your positive experiences of living in the accommodation - prospective students value the opinions of current students
What’s Expected
• Communal areas and bedrooms must be:
- Clean
- Free from rubbish and trip hazards
- Presentable at all times during viewings
• You and your flatmates share responsibility for communal spaces
• Your room must be open and accessible during the full event
What You’ll Get
• £10 Catering Allowance per event for taking part
• Extra cleaning support:
- Friday: Full communal clean (excludes bedrooms)
- Saturday morning: Light touch clean before visitors arrive
Important to Know
• If your room is not open or you don’t take part fully, payment won’t be made
• Do not leave your room unlocked if you are not present
• If you can’t attend, you must tell us in advance
• If you’re regularly unavailable, you may be moved out of the scheme
