It is important to register in person your non-UK/Irish passport and right to study immigration documents or eVisa share code as soon as possible after your arrival with the VISA Compliance Team (formerly Student Compliance Services). When your documents have been registered you can then complete the other steps of enrolment online. Please see the video and information below for what to bring with you to right to study registration.
Between Monday 15th September to Friday 26th September (including Saturday 20th September), please come to the enrolment venue on your campus of study. No appointment is needed.
Bay Campus - The College Building 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Enter through The College building main entrance and you'll find us on the left-hand side.
Singleton Campus - Faraday Tower Room 001 - 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Enter through the Faraday Building main entrance and follow the signs posted until you reach Faraday Tower Room 001.
Please make sure that you bring the following documents with you and that you have completed these steps prior to coming to right to study registration:
1) Your passport
2) Create a UKVI account to access your eVisa if applicable – this must be done before coming to in-person right to study. Please see our webpages for more information here You need to download the UK Immigration: ID Check App to complete this process. You'll need a smartphone or tablet to download the app. If your phone is not compatible with the UK Immigration: ID Check App, and you don’t have access to another device that is compatible, you can select to 'Confirm your identity without the app' where you will be directed to take a photo of your passport and yourself and upload them to be checked.
3) A share code for your eVisa using the View and Prove Immigration Status service. When asked for the reason for generating the share code, please select the ‘something else’ category.
4) New students only: Your visa decision letter that was emailed to you by the Home Office when your visa was granted
5) New students only: A copy of your flight details or boarding pass if your passport was not stamped on arrival to the UK
6) If you are an exchange student studying in Swansea for less than 6 months, please bring your Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) (ETA) (a digital copy on your phone is acceptable), if applicable, or visitor visa in your passport.
7) If you cannot use the View and Prove Immigration status service, proof of your immigration status such as a letter from the Home Office detailing your permission.
You must check to ensure that the following details are correct and accurate on your visa:
- Your personal details
- The correct visa end date as follows:
- Courses of more than 12 months in length - the course end date plus 4 months;
- Courses between 6 and 12 months in length - the course end date plus 2 months;
- Pre-sessional courses of less than 6 months - the course end date plus 1 month;
- Courses that last less than 6 months that are not a pre-sessional course - the course end date plus 7 days
- The University’s Sponsor License number (18UEHPGX4) / Swansea University is listed as your sponsor
- Type of Permit (Student Route)
- Work Hours (Work 20hrs max in term-time) if doing RQF6 level study or above
