International Tuition Fees

Tuition Fees for returning students are subject to an annual increase of 3% each year but are not subject to the tuition fee increases applicable to new students.

Note,

• Tuition Fees for a Sandwich year (as part of your degree program) are charged at a lower rate. For a Year in Industry, you will be charged 20% of the equivalent full time fee or 15% for a Year Abroad
• Repeat year fees will be charged at the equivalent full time fee
• Repeat module fees will be calculated pro-rata of your equivalent full time fee (using a formula of 1/12th per 10 credits repeated)

If you are a continuing student and required to recommence or retake part of your PG Taught programme this year please contact Student Finance for confirmation of your Tuition Fee costs.

• Tuition fees for taught master's programmes are inclusive of dissertation costs.
• Tuition Fees for standard 2 year part-time programmes are charged 50% of the full-time fee for each year of the programme (for part-time programmes with a minimum candidature period of 3 years, the fees will be calculated as a 1/3rd of the standard full-time rate for each year of the programme). Note: Fees for returning students are subject to an inflationary increase of 3% but are not subject to the tuition fee increases applicable to new students.
• Stand-alone modules will be calculated pro-rata of the full time fee (using a formula of 1/18th per 10 credits)

Tuition Fees are charged per year for the full duration of your minimum candidature period irrespective if you permitted to submit at an earlier stage.   The Minimum candidature period for a full time PhD program is 3 years, a MPhil program 2 years and a Masters by Research 1 year.

• A Bench Fee may be charged on top of your Tuition Fee to cover specialist equipment or laboratory costs required for your Research.  If a Bench Fee is to be charged the amount will be determined by your Supervisor and included in your Offer of Study.

Note: Additional Tuition Fees ay be charged in your 'writing up' period if it is deemed appropriate at the annual Progression Boards due to extensive supervision of laboratory use.

In addition to your tuition fee charges and living costs certain programmes (or modules) may attract further mandatory or optional costs necessary for you to fully participate and complete your program of choice. You will need to budget for these costs separately as they are not included in the overall tuition fee you are charged. Such costs can include fieldwork trips, travelling expenses for work or study placements, laboratory and equipment costs or CRB checks specific to your programme.

If you are sponsored by an external organisation such as a Charity, Employer or Overseas Government/Agency please ensure that your full funding details are scanned to studentfinance@swansea.ac.uk prior to your enrolment.

If you do not have an official letter from your organisation please arrange with your sponsor to complete a Sponsor confirmation form.

If you withdraw from your programme early (or suspend your studies) you may be eligible for a refund.
