TNE courses are Swansea University degrees for students studying wholly from overseas and delivered at a partner institution (franchised, joint and dual degrees) or a Swansea University Study Centre by flying faculty and/or online learning.
Enrolment for Transnational Education
NEW Students - signing up to a transnational education course
After enrolling with your institution your data will be shared with Swansea University to directly sign you up to your Swansea University degree award.
This means you will be automatically registered with Swansea University by your institution as a Swansea University student with access to a Swansea University student IT account and email.
To gain access to teaching, online learning, digital course materials, and receive a Swansea University certificate you are required to provide personal data and proof of entry qualifications and agree to abide by Swansea University rules and regulations for your course.
Otherwise, you may be requested to sign up to a Swansea University TNE course by logging in to the Apply system and providing these details:
- Personal: enter your full official name, address and contact details
- Residential Category: Select “Overseas, other”
- Proof of identity: Upload an image of your Passport or your country's Identity Card.
- Qualification: Add your most recent school qualification, you will need to upload an image of your transcript or certificate. Tip: Tap “Add Qualification”, then “School” and select “Completed” in “Qualification status”. Enter the Completion Date (mm/yyyy format) and "N/A" in the Qualification Type and Subject
- Work Experience: Select "No"
- Language: Select “No”
- Statement: Select Add Personal Statement text and type “N/A”.
- References: Populate this section by typing "N/A" in the Referee Name, type "study@swansea.ac.uk" in the Referee Email and "N/A" in the Referee Title
Your new Swansea University IT account
When you sign up to your course you should receive an email with your Swansea University user name, for example "1234567@swansea.ac.uk" or "1234567@swansea.university" and a second email with a temporary password and instructions how to change your password and setup multi-factor authentication (MFA), normally by downloading "Authenticator" to your smart phone. for details browse Your Account

Continuing Students - Enrolling on a Transnational Education Course
Annually we will ask you to check your Swansea University details are correct and sign a declaration agreeing to abide by the latest Swansea University regulations. To gain access to teaching, online learning, digital course materials, and receive a Swansea University certificate you are required to complete the steps below.
What do I need to enrol?
You will need to your Swansea University username and password and have your mobile phone with an Authenticator app.
Login to your Swansea University account
The first step is to log in to My account and authenticate your login using the Authenticator app on your mobile. After successfully logging in, tap the Intranet app and Start Enrolment link.

The next steps should take 10-15 minutes.
Enrolment declaration
The first step is to "sign" online to share data for services and agree to:
- Consent to share data and our data protection statement
- Abide by the University's Academic Regulations for your course
By enrolling on a Swansea University course, you must understand the rules, regulations and policies to adhere to as a student:
- To abide by the Rules and Regulations of the University in the Academic Guide and Student Charter and am aware of my obligations with regards to engagement on my course and the university policy governing this:
- Understand the University is required to supply personal data to certain regulatory and statutory bodies concerned with the Higher Education sector and also supplies personal data to transact its normal business activities and to enable students to make use of services and facilities. - Acknowledge that any work submitted electronically during the period of my enrolment at Swansea University may also be submitted via electronic plagiarism detection software and further details are published on the University's Academic Integrity web page.
Personal data
Verify and update personal data, your addresses, email and phone details we need.
Module registration
Check the modules you will be studying on your course is correct, and select any optional modules (where appropriate).
It is essential to complete module registration and the last step because this will give you access to Canvas, please note you will not have access to Canvas courses immediately, it normally takes up to 24 hours.
Fee payment
TNE students skip this step because the institution where you will be studying will contact you about tuition fees, funding and payment.
Last step
When you tap the Finish button you should see a message on screen and receive an email confirming you have successfully enrolled.
After enrolling access to Canvas courses will normally be granted within 24 hours.
If you cannot complete online enrolment or you cannot see Canvas courses after 24 hours, contact your institution's support team and a member of staff will help you and if necessary contact our Hwb team on your behalf to resolve any problems.
