Frequently Asked Questions - Tuition Fee Increase
The Welsh Government recently decided to increase the tuition fee cap in Wales from £9,000 to £9,250, now aligning fees with those in other UK nations. This decision is a response to sustained inflationary pressures that have impacted universities across the UK. Tuition fee levels in Wales have remained unchanged for over a decade, whilst the expenses associated with maintaining quality education and campus facilities have continued to grow.
From September 2024, tuition fees for the below listed students will be adjusted from £9,000 to £9,250 annually, bringing us in line with other Welsh universities:
- Current undergraduate students (including suspended and repeating students)
- Current undergraduate students with a year in industry
- Current undergraduate students with a year abroad
The tuition fee increase will not impact:
- Postgraduate students
- International students
- PGCE students
- Prospective/new students
- Students enrolled on 1 year only undergraduate programmes (Certificate in Higher Education)
- Students enrolled on Foundation Degrees or Degree Apprenticeship programmes
