Enrolment

To fully engage in your studies, it is important to enrol before teaching starts. You will not be able to log in to your Hwb account, join sessions or access your module content until you have enrolled.
Welcome and Induction
Welcome Week marks the beginning of your journey at Swansea University. It’s designed to help you settle in, get to know your surroundings, and prepare for the exciting academic year ahead.
Your personalised Welcome Week schedule will be available on your School’s Welcome Week webpage (linked above), do check your timetable to make sure you don't miss anything.
During Welcome and Induction, you’ll:
- Meet your lecturers - They’ll introduce you to your course structure, key modules, assessment methods, and what support is available to help you succeed.
- Connect with your coursemates – Whether it’s through induction sessions, group activities, or informal meetups, you’ll start building the friendships and networks that will support you throughout your studies.
- Explore the wider university community - From exploring campus and events which will showcase societies, sports clubs, and support services, there’ll be plenty for you to discover.
Your Teaching Timtable
Teaching will start on Monday 29th September and your timetable is available to view now. If you've ever wondered how your student timetable comes together, alongside Swansea University's other 20,000+ students, take a look at the video on the right.
Depending on your course, you’ll be taught in person on campus through a blend of lectures, seminars, workshops, and practical sessions. If you’ve got breaks between lectures, there are plenty of student study spaces across both Singleton Park and Bay Campus where you can catch up on reading, work on assignments, or meet with classmates.
And when it’s time to take a break, both campuses offer a variety of places to eat, drink, and socialise. From coffee shops and food outlets to Students’ Union venues and outdoor seating areas. Whether you’re grabbing lunch, meeting friends, or just unwinding between lectures, there’s always somewhere to go.
Your student community - academic societies
You will be joining a vibrant student community and there will be plenty of ways to get involved during Welcome Week and beyond. Getting involved in events is a fantastic way to get to know people and begin to build relationships that could last a lifetime.
Joining an academic society can be a great way to meet other students on your course, develop various skills and abilities, and have fun! You’ll be able to meet and sign up for all societies during the Freshers Fayre. In the meantime, check out the full list of academic societies on the Student Union website.
Student Reps - your voice within the University
Reps gather feedback from students and work with staff and the Students’ Union to help improve your learning experience. They sit on key committees, raise your concerns, and help shape positive change. Get to know your reps here.
You’ll get to know your Reps throughout the year, they’re fellow students who are approachable, trained, and ready to listen. It’s also a great role to get involved in yourself, with training, workshops, and valuable experience for your CV!
