Finding Reliable Sources
This tutorial looks at the best way to make sure that you use appropriate sources for your academic work. This is particularly important when using digital sources such as databases for your research. The resource will look at: why you should find reliable source, how to use the CRAAP test to examine your resources, and how to get further help.
Finding Journal Articles using Academic Databases

Newspaper Articles
Swansea University staff and students have access to newspaper archives in addition to sites available anywhere on the Internet. There are links to all the newspaper resources we subscribe to (in addition to some free web resources) in iFind. Click here to visit the Newspaper Database.
Grey Literature and Other Sources
Grey Literature can be described as information that is not controlled by commercial publishing; it is information that is produced by a body whose primary activity is not publishing. Whilst it may be useful and more current, it is not subject to the same rigorous pre-publication review processes as formally published literature. Grey Literature is widely available digitally and we need to be aware of how to identify it and determine when a source of grey literature is suitable for use in our work. For more information, visit this library guide on Grey Literature.
